Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium is additional funding for schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils from Reception to Year 11. Additional funding is given to children who are either registered as eligible for free school meals or have been cared for by the LA at some point in the past and are therefore considered ‘disadvantaged’ pupils. Schools log in to K2S (Key to Success) in June/July to download a file which identifies the names of those pupils for whom the school will receive the additional funding (this is based on whether they were captured in the school’s January census). Schools cannot see other pupils in Barnet, so if they have a new pupil that has transferred from a Barnet school, the school can contact the LA to find out whether a new pupil is likely to receive funding the following year.
