Data collection in schools

Please ensure that you are compliant with Data Protection legislation by letting all parents/carers/young persons have a copy of your Privacy Notice (please see section on Data Protection page for more information) to inform them of what information you will hold on them and for what purposes.

Under the DPA, it is your responsibility to update the information you hold on your database on a regular basis. The exact interval for these updates is up to individual schools but it is good practice to send at least an annual reminder to parents/carers/young persons with the information you hold on them with the request to inform you if there have been any changes.
