Webinar: After School Food Provision and the School Food Standards

This webinar aims to support staff in Barnet schools who are involved in the after school catering provision to ensure that the offering meets the School Food Standards, promotes best practice and provides value for money.

Date:  Monday 20th October 2025

Audience: Barnet in-house school staff such as TAs, school food leads and external providers.

Time:  2.30pm to 3.00pm

Format: Online webinar via Zoom. 

The content includes:

  • Determining the purpose of your offer and how this fits in with supporting a healthy balanced diet (i.e. a child should eat 3 main meals and 1-2 light/small snacks) – this should be determined with the school food lead
  • Requirements from the school food standards:
    • Other provision (used for breakfast and after school in practice)
  • A compliant offer:
    • Snack criteria options
    • Light provision options
    • Evening meal options
  • Question and Answer session
  • Access to useful resources
