Peer champion scheme
Peer Champion Scheme
The Peer Champion Scheme is commissioned by the Resilient Schools Programme local offer and is available to all Barnet State Secondary Schools.
The service will provide young people in Barnet schools with an opportunity to promote good mental health and reduce stigma. The offer includes mental health awareness training and a half-day co-production workshop so that young people can design the scheme to fit the needs of their school. For example, some may decide that they would like to deliver assemblies to their peers and others may wish to focus on creating resources to raise mental health awareness.
Our provider Big Dog Little Dog (BDLD) is experienced in providing mental health training and support services. Please note, that the Peer Champion Scheme is not a mentorship programme but can be a good starting point if you wish to consider this for your school.
