Suicide and self harm
Thoughts of self-harm and suicide are common, particularly among young people. Suicide is the leading cause of death in young people, and schools play a vital role in helping to prevent young suicide. We aim to support pupils.
Training Offer
As part of the Resilient Schools Universal Programme, we are pleased to offer free Suicide Prevention Explore, Ask, Keep-safe (SP-EAK) half-day training to all schools in Barnet.
Suicide Prevention – Explore, Ask, Keep-safe (SP-EAK) sessions are online or in-person and delivered by Papyrus which will allow you to learn vital suicide prevention skills. The training helps participants to have an open and honest conversation about suicide and learn not only to spot the signs that someone might be struggling but also how to ask the question of suicide and to support someone’s safety.
