Personal, Social, Health, Economic Education (PSHE)
Supporting Primary and Secondary Schools deliver PSHE
Effective delivery of PSHE/RSE education helps pupils to achieve their academic potential and provides a broad and balanced life-skills learning programme. Health, relationships, economic wellbeing, and successful careers are all linked, and it is PSHE that is the glue that binds them together. There is clear evidence of the positive impact health education in health promoting schools has on children and young people’s life chances, health, wellbeing, and academic success when delivered well.
Barnet Public Health, through the Health Education Partnership (HEP), are supporting Primary and Secondary schools deliver effective PSHE curriculum through offering:
- Networks for PSHE leads in Primary and Secondary schools to meet, support, share learning and update on key issues and resources. The meetings are free to attend.
- Training and workshops to support workforce confidence and development in delivering effective PSHE. The sessions are free to attend.
- Newsletters and briefings on relevant issues to support PSHE delivery
